Free for life
Every theme you buy gets all future versions for its platform, free, for as long as we make the theme. That includes bug fixes after your support period has ended. Updates are for activated licences, so make sure your key is in the theme.
How you hear about a new version
When we release a new version of a theme you own:
- you get a notification in your account (Account → Notifications),
- we email you, with what changed,
- in the Shopify theme editor, the theme shows a hint that the new version is ready in your Orbital account.
Where to get it
Open Account → Purchases. The purchase shows the latest version number, and an Update available tag when it's newer than the version you bought. Press Download to get the newest ZIP. There's always just one file: the latest version.
What changed?
Every theme page has a Changelog section that lists each release and what's in it. HTML templates also include a CHANGELOG.md file in the ZIP.
Installing an update
Your store doesn't update itself. That's on purpose: nothing changes on your site until you decide. Here's how to update without losing your work:
You don't have to install every update. If your store is running well, you can wait, and the latest version will still be there when you want it.
