Overview
Oatmoss is built for furniture and home stores. It is styled like a materials library: oat, chalk, moss and walnut, square corners, fine hairlines and paper labels, with photos that slide in sideways once as you scroll.
The signature is Will it fit. A shopper types the width (and optionally depth) of their space once, in cm or inches. Cards, the product page and the collection then say "Fits your space, with 4 cm to spare" or "Too wide for your space, by 7 cm", pieces that are too big step back, and the collection bar counts how many fit and can hide the rest. A cm / in switch rewrites every size in the store.
Oatmoss comes in two versions, each sold separately: a Shopify theme for Online Store 2.0 and a static HTML template for any host. Both have the same design and signature features; what each version includes is listed below.
Shopify version: what you get
- Header: a room switcher (top level of your menu as a segmented bar with wide room panels), Your space, the cm / in switch, search, account and cart; a Menu drawer on phones.
- Home sections: Room bands (full-width rooms on a sideways rail with shoppable pins), Product rail, Material library (samples on boards with a compare table for up to three), Room set, Made to order timeline and Fit check.
- Product page: large gallery with material tiles that switch the gallery to that finish, size line with fit check, lead time, delivery promises, Order a sample, and a spec sheet with Dimensions drawn to scale, Materials and care, Delivery, Assembly and In the room.
- Collection page: big title and piece count, fit bar, Shopify filters and sorting, showroom-label cards with a W x D x H strip and finish chips.
- Shopping: cart drawer with recommendations, quick add with material tiles, predictive search, recently viewed and pickup availability.
- Online Store 2.0: JSON templates, header and footer section groups, app blocks in the main sections.
- Colour schemes: four (oat, chalk, moss and walnut), all checked for AA text contrast.
Good to know (Shopify)
- Will it fit, the dimension panel and the size line need width, depth and height product metafields. The live demo is a tableware and home goods store without those metafields, so those parts are hidden on the demo. The material tiles and finish switching are shown there.
